A good rest is the best

Consistently getting quality sleep will improve your student’s mental, emotional, and physical performance. It improves their immune system, balances hormones, boosts metabolism, and improves brain function.

The main reason sleep is so important for a student’s success in school is because this is the time when their brain is “cleaning” itself.

Just like every other cell in our body, our brain cells are eating, reproducing, and making waste products. When we are awake, our brain is super active with learning, thinking, and controlling our entire body – and this creates a lot of “brain garbage!”

During sleep, our body uses this time to remove all that waste and allows us to repeat the learning processes day after day. It’s like removing all the unneeded files from your computer, so you have storage for more important files.

If your student is not getting enough quality sleep then all this “brain garbage” stays backed up in their brain, reducing cognitive performance and learning potential.

Social Wellness; A Stepping Stone Towards Achieving the Top, TOGETHER

Social wellness refers to the connection and relationship we have and how we interact with others. Our relationships can offer support during difficult times. Social wellness involves building healthy, nurturing and supportive relationships as well as fostering a genuine connection with those around you. But this is what students are slowly forgetting.

In today’s educational sysytem, school unintentionallyimplant in every student’s mind that school is competition and that everyone in school are each other’s rival. Therefore students should study books cover to cover in order to achieve the “top”. Students doesn’t have a choice but to abuse themselves in order to finish tons of school work. They then eventually isolate themselves from the real world and stay in a corner to “study” the facts in Science and History classes. Students just spend majority of their time memorizing facts and solving equations rather than spending time with their families or friends, not even with thierselves.

This is one of the tragic reality in our society, students are drowning in the sea of school works that they forget that they are not living alone. They tend to forget that there is much more than studying facts and dealing with equations. They forget that the real purpose of going to school is to learn how to live life and that is through dealing and connecting with others. They are already neglecting social connections where in fact social wellness is a very important component in a person’s health especially to students. Connectivity with the people around you hepls you gather support system as you go along your journey. Let your social relationships be a stepping stone in achieving the top, TOGETHER.

“Success means being mentally and emotionally healthy”

How can we be able to reach our goals if we are mentally and emotionally unhealthy? How can we be able to become innovative and productive members of the society if we even failed to take care of ourselves? ‘
‘Health should come first before anything else’

In the current society, sadly academics became more of a priority than mental health, physical health and emotional stability. We often focus more on the things we do in school rather than our own health. We tend to skip meals and lose time to rest just to finish our assignments, projects and performance tasks. We also drown ourselves by the thought that we should give our best because if we fail in school, we feel like we will also fail as a daughter/son or even as an individual. This should not be how the minds of the students work. We should not think this way. We should be students who think creatively, innovatively, critically and independently with the ability to connect, and not the other way around.

Achievements, recognitions and medals are not really important. Even grades doesn’t define our success. As students, our mental and emotional well being is more important. It should be our number one priority. Be mindful enough that we are not immune to diseases, we are not armored from exhaustion, we are not robots to do tasks as efficiently as possible.

Once in a while, take a break! We are still humans and we breakdown. We also become depress, stress and tired of all the things we are doing in school. We maybe pressured by our parents, or even by the society to give our all, but still don’t forget that you can’t make something happen if you’re in a very vulnerable state.

Don’t push yourself to the limit. Learn to manage your time well and balance everything. Free yourself from all the stress coming from your school works. Have some fresh air and rest for a while. Spare some time to enjoy and have fun with your friends and family.

Take care of your health because no one else will. Our health means everything. You can no longer continue to attain what you aim if you’re mentally and emotionally unstable. All you’re efforts will be put in vain if you neglect your health.

How can you be the best that you can be when your emotional and mental health will drag you down? How can we achieve success if we are into this? How?

Let us all attain success without risking ourselves. Let us be the best that we can be by being active and healthy.
